Use the live map

Read player positions, vehicles, events and recent activity without separating the map from the server you are operating.

Dark DayZ operations map with live activity markers

Before opening the map

The paired GAdmin Agent must be connected and the DayZ-side component must be writing fresh map snapshots in the selected profiles directory. The standard snapshot path is:

<DayZ profiles>/GAdminAgent/map-snapshot.json

If the portal shows an old snapshot time, solve Agent or source-data freshness before relying on marker positions.

Read the map surface

  • Player markers represent players included in the latest accepted snapshot.
  • Vehicle and boat markers show supported world objects available from the source snapshot.
  • Event markers provide spatial context for supported server events.
  • Activity feed keeps recent operational events beside the terrain.

Pan by dragging the map, use the zoom controls to change scale and select a player marker for focused detail. Close the detail card or select another marker to continue.

Understand freshness

A marker is only as current as the latest successful snapshot. Check the visible update state before using location as the basis for a moderation or world action. A connected portal session does not by itself prove that the DayZ-side snapshot source is advancing.

Live data is sensitive

Give map access only to workspace members who need player-location information for administration. Apply your community rules consistently and document actions taken from map context.

Use the map with player context

Selecting a marker is the start of an investigation, not the final decision. Open the relevant player view to review identity, session history, notes, watchlist and previous moderation state before taking a consequential action.
