From raw access to known operations
RCON is an important control surface, but raw text commands are difficult to delegate safely. A typo, a copied command or an overly broad role can turn a routine task into a server incident. GAdmin uses typed operations with a defined payload for supported actions such as player messaging, kicks, server messages and controlled server state changes.
The portal checks the workspace, plan and user permissions before an operation enters the queue. The paired Agent verifies its server relationship, claims the queued work, translates the known operation into the required server-side action and reports the outcome.
Designed around least privilege
An interface can hide a button, but that is not authorization. GAdmin enforces permissions on the backend and prevents a member from delegating a capability they do not hold. Plan entitlements and workspace roles remain separate concepts, making it possible to reason about both commercial access and team responsibility.
- Explicit operation types instead of arbitrary command strings.
- Payload validation before an operation is accepted.
- Server-bound agent credentials and authenticated polling.
- Recorded request, claim and completion context.
- Result reporting back to the browser workspace.
An outbound connection model
The GAdmin Agent runs in the DayZ server environment or through a supported hosting integration. It connects outward to the remote GAdmin portal over HTTPS and communicates with the configured BattlEye RCON endpoint. This means GAdmin does not require a general inbound management channel for Agent commands.
The generated gak_ server API key and the Agent credential are secrets. Limit access to the DayZ profiles and protected Agent configuration, and rotate the server key if its value may have been exposed.
Useful control without losing context
A remote action is more reliable when the administrator can see the current player, server and capability state. GAdmin keeps those details beside the action, then preserves the outcome for later review. Saved operations can make repeated work consistent without turning them into hidden scripts.
Frequently asked questions
Does GAdmin expose a raw RCON console?
No. The normal portal flow is based on supported operation types with explicit validation and authorization.
Where does BattlEye communication happen?
The Agent communicates with the BattlEye RCON endpoint configured for that DayZ server, independently of whether the server is self-managed or hosted by a provider.
Can every team member run every action?
No. Backend permissions and active plan entitlements determine which operations are available to each user.
